A Problem in the Factory\n\nI work as a technician in a modern car factory. My job is to fix the robots when they stop. Today, a large robot on the assembly line is broken. \n\nI open my laptop and check the system. Does the robot have power? Yes, it has power, but it does not move. Do the sensors work? No, they do not work. The red light on the robot flashes twice. This means the computer does not talk to the mechanical arm. \n\nI ask the operator a few questions. "Do you see any error messages on your screen?" I ask. \n"No, I do not see any messages," he replies. \n"Does the robot make a strange noise before it stops?"\n"Yes, it does. It makes a loud clicking noise, but it does not smoke."\n\nI look at the cables.
