Planning a Reunion Dinner
Organising a reunion dinner has tested my patience, but the event has also shown how much our group has changed since university. I had volunteered to coordinate everything after Sofia had suggested we meet before winter.
First I had checked who had remained in the city. Five friends had moved abroad since we had graduated, yet four had confirmed they would travel back for one weekend. Others had married or had started families since our last gathering three years ago.
I have booked a restaurant that has served Mediterranean food since the owners had renovated an old warehouse. The manager had promised a private room when I had called in September. Since then I have exchanged emails about dietary requirements I had not considered at first.
Budget discussions had caused mild debate. Some classmates had earned more since they had entered senior roles.
