Ten Years of Friendship

Nadia and I had met in a queue outside a concert venue on a rainy October evening in 2014. Neither of us had obtained tickets in time, yet we had started talking while waiting to see whether cancellations would appear. When two places had opened unexpectedly, we had entered together and had discovered shared taste in music that has shaped our friendship ever since.

University had separated us geographically the following year. She had studied in Edinburgh while I had remained in Cardiff. Phone calls had replaced daily conversations, and visits had depended on train fares we had saved for carefully during term breaks.
