Have You Ever Climbed a Mountain? I Hiked One Last Spring

I am Nina. My friend Leo asked me yesterday, "Have you ever climbed a mountain?" I answered honestly: I have never reached a summit, but I have walked on many hills near my town. Last spring I hiked Grey Ridge with our outdoor club, and that day changed how I think about height and effort.

Leo has climbed three peaks in Wales. He told me he has always loved cold air and wide views. Last year he ascended Snowdon on a windy morning in May. The path felt steep, yet he has remembered every step because the sky turned gold at the top.

I have not trained for serious climbing. Last month I bought stronger boots, but I have only used them on short trails so far. Two weeks ago I walked five kilometres along the river path.
