A Week That Tested Our Team and Our Plans

Monday began quietly at the community centre where I work. We had finished a successful craft fair on Saturday, and my colleague Pavel suggested we plan a winter market for December. By Friday, weather, budgets, and unexpected repairs had turned the week into a lesson about flexibility.

On Tuesday the roof leaked above the storage room. If water touches cardboard boxes, the supplies are ruined within hours. We moved everything quickly, and Pavel called a contractor who arrived before lunch. If we had waited until Wednesday, the damage would have been worse.

The council emailed about funding on Wednesday afternoon. If we submit the application by the tenth, we will receive a partial grant for heating improvements. I stayed late to gather invoices while volunteers cleaned the main hall. If the hall looks welcoming, more vendors will rent tables at the market.
