Messages from My Family Abroad
I am Sofia. My relatives live in three countries, and their messages often arrive at different times. Last Sunday I sat in the kitchen and read updates from everyone, then I wrote a short note for my brother who was travelling.
My aunt Rosa in Valencia said that she was preparing for a local festival. She told me that her street would close to traffic the following Saturday, and she said that neighbours had already hung decorations. She told me that she would send photos when the parade started.
My uncle Ken in Toronto told me that winter had arrived early. He said that snow had covered his garden overnight, and he told me that he had shoveled the path before breakfast. He said that he would visit us in spring if flights stayed affordable.
