Diary of a Flat Hunt in Bristol

Monday

I started searching for a flat in Bristol last week, and the process already feels exhausting. An agent told me to fill an application in online and fill it in tonight, so I sat at the kitchen table after dinner. I wrote my employer's phone number down and wrote it down twice because the form timed out once.

Tuesday

I viewed a studio near the harbour. The landlord switched every light on to show the space and switched them on one by one. The rooms looked bright, yet the rent would wipe my savings out within a year if I moved in. I thanked him and promised to think about it.

Wednesday

My friend Zoe picked me up from the train station and picked me up in her small car. We looked three addresses up on the map and looked them up while traffic crawled.
