A Letter About Missed Deadlines

Dear Martin,

I am writing because the delivery schedule for the Riverside project was not met last quarter, and several stakeholders have asked for a clear explanation. If we had communicated delays earlier, trust would not have been damaged to the extent that was reported in yesterday's meeting.

As you know, the initial timeline was approved in May after budgets had been reviewed by finance. Components were ordered, suppliers were contacted, and milestones were entered into the shared tracker. Nevertheless, two critical shipments were held at customs because documentation had not been updated when regulations were changed in June.
