Diary Notes After the Housing Committee Meeting

The housing committee met for three hours, and I left with cramped handwriting because every exchange seemed worth recording. Community boards generate reported questions and instructions that activists later quote in newsletters.
Chair Ms Okonkwo asked whether the agenda had been circulated forty-eight hours in advance. She told latecomers to sign the attendance sheet quietly. She asked if anyone objected to moving item four ahead of item three, and nobody did.
Tenant representative Mr Hale asked why repair tickets had averaged six weeks in Block C. The estates manager asked whether Mr Hale had included emergency cases in his figure. Mr Hale told him to publish category breakdowns and not to merge urgent leaks with cosmetic requests.
The finance officer asked how much reserve remained for insulation grants. A councillor asked whether bids would reopen if costs exceeded estimates.
