Reading a Long Email Thread About Budget Cuts
On Wednesday I opened an email thread that had grown to forty-seven messages overnight, and it became an accidental tutorial in advanced discourse linkers used under stress. The subject line announced budget cuts; however, the first message sounded almost calm.

The regional manager wrote from abroad. Furthermore, he noted that clients in his territory still expected site visits. However, he proposed virtual demos with follow-up samples.
