Conference Panel Recap on Remote Work Policies
I attended a conference panel on remote work policies and wrote this recap for colleagues who registered but could not travel. Four speakers represented law, human resources, design, and employee advocacy; however, they shared concern about clarity in hybrid rules.

HR described onboarding changes. New hires meet mentors virtually first; nevertheless, site visits remain scheduled within six weeks. Going forward, firms experiment with quarterly immersion weeks rather than daily mandates.
The designer presented workspace data. Open plans reduced satisfaction for focused tasks; conversely, collaboration zones boosted cross-team projects. Consequently, redesign budgets shifted toward modular rooms instead of uniform desks.
