I. The Golden Ball
This story is from long, long ago. In those days, wishes can still come true.
There is a king, and he lives in a big castle. He has some daughters, and all of them are pretty. But the youngest daughter is the prettiest of all. She is so lovely that even the sun is surprised. The sun is very old, and it sees many things. But every time it shines on her face, it is surprised again.
Near the castle there is a big, dark forest. In the forest there is an old lime tree. A lime tree is a tall tree with soft green leaves. Under this old tree there is a well. A well is a deep hole in the ground with water in it. The water in this well is dark and cool.
