The Ten-Photo Test for Choosing Software
My sister and I wanted to organise our family photos. We had pictures on two laptops, several phones, and an old drive. We did not begin by downloading an app. First, we wrote down our real needs.
We needed a tool that could add names, places, and dates to each picture. It also had to work without an internet connection. Finally, we wanted to export our notes in a format we could open or import later.
Our list helped us remove many options. A beautiful design was pleasant, but it was not essential. Automatic sharing looked useful, but our archive was private. We cared more about search, export, and a clear backup process.
Next, we made a copy of ten photos. The small test folder had an old portrait, a group picture, and several images from a holiday.
