Diary Notes During a Busy Conference Week
Thursday, 12 October. Attending an international academic conference can be both intellectually exhilarating and physically exhausting. This week, our university research team traveled to Edinburgh to participate in the European Renewable Energy Symposium. Reflecting on the past three days in my diary helps me organize the countless ideas, conversations, and professional connections made during this whirlwind academic gathering.
Tuesday commenced with an inspiring keynote address delivered by Dr. Henrik Lindholm from Stockholm. Dr. Lindholm told the audience that offshore wind technology had advanced dramatically over the past five years. He explained that floating turbine platforms could soon generate clean power in deep oceanic waters where winds are strongest. His presentation was received with tremendous applause, and copies of his research paper were distributed to all delegates immediately after the morning session.
Wednesday was dedicated to specialized workshop panels and poster presentations.
