Sorting Out the Shared Kitchen
Living in a shared house with four university students requires continuous cooperation, particularly when maintaining communal kitchen areas. Last Sunday morning, our kitchen was in a state of complete chaos after a busy weekend of cooking. Sink basins were overflowing with saucepans, greasy crumbs covered the counters, and the recycling bin was packed to the brim.
My flatmate Maya and I decided to tackle the mess together before breakfast. First, Maya grabbed a heavy plastic bin liner and took out the overflowing kitchen rubbish, tying the bag tightly before carrying it out to the street bins. She gathered empty cereal boxes from the counter, crushed them flat, and threw them away in the green recycling container outside.
Meanwhile, I sprayed eco-friendly cleaner across the stainless-steel hob and wiped it off with a microfiber cloth until the surface gleamed.
