Diary Entry: The Trip That Surprised Me

October 14th. When I booked a spontaneous weekend excursion to an isolated coastal village last month, I expected bleak grey skies and tedious evenings. My stressful office routine had left me utterly exhausted, so I simply wanted an unpretentious refuge where I could sleep without telephone alarms.
