The Porch Light for My Sister

I am still at work, and my sister is outside our door. The key is in my bag, here with me, not in her hand. The porch is dark. I want her inside, but I will not open the door for a person I cannot see. On my phone, one app holds the lock, the camera, and the porch lamp.

The camera sends an alert: movement at the door. That is why I pick up the phone. The lamp is an ordinary lamp on a smart plug. I turn the plug on. The porch becomes bright. I open the camera. I see my sister: her face, her coat, the bag on her shoulder. She looks at the lens and waves. It is her. There is no delivery person behind her. Only she is standing there.
