The Sofa and the Headset

Luis wanted a sofa for the empty corner by the window. He also wanted to see it there before he paid. The shop was on the other side of the city, and he did not want to carry a sofa home only to bring it back. On the shop site he found an app that used the phone camera. He stood in the living room and pointed the phone at the corner.

A gray sofa appeared on the real floor. His lamp was still beside the window. The sofa sat between the lamp and the wall. He stepped to the left. The picture moved with him, and the sofa stayed in the corner. The room was real. The sofa was a digital object placed over the camera view. People call that augmented reality. Luis already knew a version of the idea.
