Story Two : The Old Woman and Her Pig Here is another old story . It is about an old woman and a little pig that will not do what she wants . An old woman lives in a little house . One morning she is sweeping her house . There , on the floor , she finds a little old sixpence . A sixpence is a small silver coin . This one is not flat . It is a little bent . The old woman picks it up and looks at it . “ What shall I do with this little sixpence ? ” she says . “ I know ! I will go to market , and I will buy a little pig . ” So she puts on her hat and goes to market . There are a lot of animals at the market . She looks at them all . Then she buys a fat little pink pig . “ You are a fine little pig , ” she says . “ Come home with me . ” On the way home she comes to a stile . A stile is a set of steps over a wall . People go up the steps on one side and down on the other side . The old woman wants to go over the stile with her pig . But the little pig stops . “ Come on , piggy , ” she says . “ Up you go ! ” But the piggy will not go over the stile . He just stands there . “ Oh dear , ” says the old woman . “ I must get home tonight . ”
