“ You pretend to be poor , but you measure gold , ” he said , and he showed Ali Baba the coin . “ My wife found this in the measure that your wife borrowed yesterday . How many coins like this do you have ? ” Ali Baba understood that he could not keep the secret any more . Calmly , he told his brother the whole truth . Then he offered Cassim a part of the treasure . “ Of course I want my part , ” said Cassim proudly . “ But I also want to know where the cave is and how to get in . If you don’t tell me , I will go to the judge and tell him everything . Then you will lose all your gold . ” Ali Baba told him everything . He was not really afraid of Cassim ; he did it because he had a kind heart . He even told him the words that opened and closed the door . III . The Forgotten Word Cassim wanted all the treasure for himself . The next morning he left the town before sunrise . He took ten mules with big empty boxes on their backs . He found the rock and said , “ Open , Sesame ! ” The door opened . Cassim went in , and the door shut behind him . Cassim looked at the gold with his mouth open . There was much more than he expected ! He wanted to look at it all day . But he was there to take it away , and his mules were waiting outside . He picked up as many bags as he could and carried them to the door . But his head was full of gold , and he forgot the word . Instead of “ Sesame ” , he said , “ Open , Barley ! ” The door did not open . He tried other kinds of grain . “ Open , Wheat ! Open , Rice ! ” Nothing happened . The door stayed shut . Now Cassim was very frightened . The more he thought about the word , the less he remembered it . He dropped the bags by the door and walked up and down the cave . The gold was not important to him any more . At about midday the robbers came back . They saw the mules near the rock with big boxes on their backs . The mules were not tied , and they ran away into the forest . The robbers pulled out their swords and hurried to the door . Inside , Cassim heard the horses . He stood close to the door , ready to run . The captain said the words , and the door opened . At once Cassim jumped out and pushed the captain to the ground . But he could not escape . The other robbers attacked him with their swords , and Cassim died there , in front of the cave . The robbers went into the cave and saw the bags by the door . They could not understand it . How did this man get in ? Only they knew the secret of the door , or so they thought . They wanted to frighten anybody else with the same idea . So they did a cruel thing . They cut Cassim’s body into four parts and left them inside the cave , near the door . Then they rode off to rob travellers on the roads , as usual .
