But there was still one problem : the body was in four parts . Morgiana had an idea for this too . Very early the next morning , when it was still almost dark , she went to the square . An old cobbler called Baba Mustapha had his little shop there . A cobbler is a man who mends shoes . Baba Mustapha was a cheerful old man , and he always opened his shop before everybody else . Morgiana put a gold coin into his hand . “ What a good start to the day ! ” said the old man . “ What do you need ? ” “ Come with me , and bring your needle and thread , ” said Morgiana . “ But at one place on the way I will cover your eyes . ” “ Oh , oh ! You don’t want me to do something wrong , do you ? ” asked Baba Mustapha . Morgiana gave him another coin . “ Nothing bad , I promise , ” she said . “ Come , and don’t be afraid . ” At one place on the way , Morgiana tied a handkerchief over his eyes . She led him like this to Cassim’s house . In the room where the body lay , she took the handkerchief off . There Baba Mustapha sewed the four parts of the body together . Then Morgiana covered his eyes again and led him back to the same place . She gave him a third gold coin and asked him to say nothing . She watched him walk away until she could not see him any more . Ali Baba washed his brother’s body and wrapped it in white cloth , as was the custom . A carpenter brought the coffin , and Morgiana took it from him at the door , so he did not see anything . Then the imam came from the mosque . An imam is the man who leads the prayers . Four neighbours carried the coffin to the cemetery . Morgiana walked behind it , weeping loudly all the way , and Ali Baba and the neighbours followed . At home , the widow wept with the women of the street . Nobody in the town guessed the truth . A few days later , Ali Baba moved into Cassim’s house with his family . He carried his gold there secretly , at night . Soon everybody heard about his marriage to his brother’s widow , and nobody was surprised . Ali Baba’s eldest son already knew the work of a merchant , so Ali Baba gave him Cassim’s shop . He also promised to find him a good wife soon . V . Marks on the Doors Some time later , the robbers came back to the cave . Cassim’s body was not there ! And some bags of gold were missing too . “ Somebody else knows our secret , ” said the captain . “ We must find him and kill him , or we will lose all our treasure . One of you must go to the town dressed as a traveller . He must find out who the dead man was and where he lived . But if he brings back wrong news , he will die . ”
