Lena Packs for a Safe Trip
Lena wants to leave the hotel this time. Last year she flew a long way and then saw only the ceiling. A meal sat too long in the heat, and she was ill for days. The flight tomorrow is a second chance. She opens the suitcase for a clean shirt, stops, and pulls the shirt back out. The small bag has to come first.
On the table there is a card from her doctor. Some countries ask for vaccines before you enter, and the card says what Lena needs. The card goes into a pocket with her passport. She makes two paper copies of the passport. One stays with her brother. One stays with her. If the original is lost, she can still read every detail.
She reads her travel insurance with a pen in her hand.
