Farah heard the street door , then steps on the stairs . She looked at the calendar and stood up too fast . Late that morning she was supposed to be on a call . She was also supposed to be in the studio , taking photos . Both things sat in the same hour , and someone was already coming up . The studio took photos of products for small shops . This morning the products were a set of cups . The shop wanted them back the same day , and the cups were already on the table , clean and turned toward the window . The call was about a later job . Farah had put it in the calendar weeks ago under the name S . Lee . Yesterday she had added the photo visit under Sora Lee . The calendar kept both lines . It did not know they were one person . The door opened . Sora stood there with a bright scarf and the careful smile of a person who is on time . She expected the room to be hers . " I am a little early , " Sora said . " Is that all right ? I thought I still had to carry the cups up . You already have them in the light . " Farah turned the laptop so Sora could read it . " I have you twice , " she said . " A call , and this visit . I cannot do both while the light is on the table . The cups need the window now . The call can move . " Sora looked at the two lines and laughed once , short and surprised . " I forgot the call as well . I came for the photos . I even set a reminder , and then I got on the bus and stopped looking at my phone . " They worked while the light stayed on the table . Farah turned each cup . Sora watched the screen and pointed when a handle hid the pattern . Neither of them picked up a phone . The call stayed in the calendar , unanswered , while the real person stood in the room . When the last cup was back in its box , Farah deleted that call . In the empty space she wrote one line : photos with Sora , and a short talk only if she still wants it . At the door , Sora said she did still want the talk . Not on the stairs , and not while the cups were still in their hands . " Write to me for another day , " she said . " Use my full name . Sora Lee . Then your calendar and I will agree . " Farah typed the full name before the street door closed downstairs . The hour showed one line . She left it like that .
