The Blue Wall Invoice
Samir kept the payment list for a small photo studio. That afternoon Rosa called, and she sounded worried.
"I paid you," she said. "I did it from my phone last night. This morning your email still says the invoice is open. I do not want you to think I forgot."
Samir wanted to trust her. He also wanted the studio page to tell the truth. He opened the new invoice, the one for the family pictures. Her name was not among the payments under it.
"I can see the invoice," he said. "I cannot see your payment on it. What name is on the screen you paid?"
Rosa was quiet. Then she said, "It shows the old pictures. The ones with the blue wall. Not the family pictures."
Samir opened the older invoice. The payment was there.
