What the Price Assumes
Maya wanted the studio before anyone else in the room did. Customers already opened its scheduling tool every morning, and her own team had kept postponing the same feature. Buying the smaller company looked quicker than building the tool again. She had said that in the deck. On Thursday a folder arrived with a price on the first page and a blank where the closing date should have been.
She read it with the door shut. Her company would buy the studio. The name on the studio door would come down. The tool would live inside her product. The pages mostly agreed with that story: contracts, a customer list, a lawyer's note that some questions were still open. Nothing in the first half made her pause.
Omar from finance came in and stayed on his feet.
