The Story of the iPhone: How Apple Changed Everything
On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs walked onto a stage in San Francisco. He led Apple, and he wanted to show one object, not three. A music player, a phone, and a way to open the internet. He wore a black turtleneck and jeans. He held a phone that looked almost empty on the front. He said, "Today, Apple is going to reinvent the phone."
Before that day, many phones had rows of small buttons. You pressed them to type a message. The screen was a small window above the keys. Jobs wanted the screen to be the phone. The iPhone in his hand had no grid of buttons. It had one round Home button and a large glass screen. You used a finger.
He opened a photo. He put two fingers on the glass and moved them apart.
