The Essay Left at Home

Lena wants to send her history essay tonight. Her teacher asked for it by morning, and her classmate Omar still has to add his paragraph. The essay is on her laptop. The laptop is on her desk at home, and the USB stick is in the same bag. Lena is at the library. The lights will not stay on all evening, so she needs the file now, not later.

She sits at a free computer. It is not her machine, but it has the internet. She opens Google Drive and signs in. Drive asks for her password. Then it sends a short code to her phone. She types the code, and her folders open. Without that code, the password alone does not let her in.

She clicks Dropbox first, because her summer photos live there.
