The Cover on the Screen

Nina wants an answer before lunch. She made the cover for a small booklet, and the printer is waiting for the file. Her team cannot stand around her desk. Two people are at home. Her manager is in the office, on another floor. So the meeting is a video call on Microsoft Teams, the app her company uses when people are not in the same room.

The link is already in the chat. Nina clicks it from her kitchen table. Teams opens. She sees her manager and two colleagues, and a small box with her own name. Her camera is on, but the window is behind her, and her face looks dark. She turns the chair. The daylight is now on her face, and the others can see her.

"Nina, can you hear us?" her manager asks.
