The Call Moved Up

Rosa had one job before lunch. She needed Ben to see the new slides, and then she needed to join the client. Ben was in another city. The slides were only on the laptop in her kitchen.

She put the file in a shared folder on Google Drive. Drive keeps a copy online, so Ben could open the same slides on his own computer. A Google Doc in that folder worked in a different way: two people can type in it at the same time. The slides did not need that. They needed his eyes.

The client folder stayed shut until she turned on a VPN. A VPN puts the connection into a code. Someone on the same cafe wifi cannot easily read it. Rosa was at home, not in a cafe, and the company still wanted the VPN before that folder would open.
