Shopping for Souvenirs

The word "souvenir" comes from French. In French it means "a memory". A souvenir is a small thing that helps you remember a place.

Anna is from Kyiv. She is in London for four days. On Sunday she goes to Camden Market. Camden Market is a big market in the north of London, with hundreds of small shops and stalls. People sell clothes, food, books, souvenirs and local crafts there.

Anna wants a gift for her brother. She stops at a small shop with red buses and red telephone boxes in the window. In London the buses are red, and the old telephone boxes are red too.

"Hello. I am looking for a gift," Anna says.

"For a child or an adult?" the man asks.

"For my brother. He is twenty."

The man shows her a black t-shirt with a red bus on it.
