Planning a Trip Abroad

Priya wants four days in Porto with her sister, and she wants the plan on paper tonight. Tomorrow she has to ask for those days at work. A wish is not enough. She needs a city, a bed, and a way to meet.

She sits at the kitchen table with her passport and a notebook. The date in the passport is still good for the trip, so she writes "passport" and draws a line through it. She does not write a price. She does not pick a hotel. Her sister, Inês, has a spare room, and that is the bed.

On the airline site she looks at two flights. One lands in the afternoon. One lands late at night. Priya wants the afternoon flight, because she does not want Inês waiting in the dark. She writes "afternoon arrival" and leaves the late flight.
