Jonah wants a bed in Seville for two nights, and he wants it settled before he packs. His train will arrive in the evening. In the morning he wants to walk to the Real Alcázar, the old royal palace in the center, without a long ride first. A room near the station would be easy tonight and wrong tomorrow.

He sits on the sofa with his phone. Two places are still open. The first is close to Santa Justa station. The second is a small guesthouse in Santa Cruz, the old quarter beside the Alcázar. He does not look at a score. He reads one note from a guest: the courtyard is quiet at night, and the street outside is narrow. That is the kind of place he wants. He can ask about the door later.

Before he pays, he reads the cancellation lines.
