Urban Tourism and Smart City Experiences

Sam had one afternoon in the city and one thing he wanted: the river museum, before it closed. His train had arrived late, his paper map was useless in the wind, and the street signs used a language he could read only in pieces. He opened the transit app the hotel had named. It showed the next bus, the walking time, and a bike-share stand a short walk away.

He chose the bike. The app unlocked a cycle, drew a line along a lane, and reminded him that the museum shut its doors late in the afternoon. At a red light a screen on the shelter listed the buses that were actually coming, not a printed timetable from the morning. Sam did not need a lecture on traffic systems. He needed to know whether to wait.
