The Chair by the Window
Elena wanted the team to see the new counter before anyone moved the real one. She had slides full of arrows, and a square that showed where the counter should stand. People sat in their chairs. Mr Cole had his notebook open.
Then the projector gave them a white square and stopped. Someone gave a small laugh. Elena looked at her notes. They were no help now. The room she wanted to describe was the room they were already in.
"Give me a minute," she said. She pulled an empty chair into the middle of the floor and turned it toward the window. "This chair is the counter. You are the customers. The window is behind the chair. The door is on your left. If the counter sits too close to the door, people with a quick question will get stuck behind the lunch line."
