Hana Wanted the Flame
Hana stood in a crowded street near the stadium. Music came from inside. Her father looked at his phone and tried to find the way. They had to meet her aunt at the station later. Before that, Hana wanted one thing. She wanted to see the Olympic flame. She did not want a shirt. She did not want a photo with a runner. She wanted the real fire, the one that burns while the Games are on.
At first they walked the wrong way. The crowd was moving toward a huge screen, not toward the flame. On the screen a race was already going. The runners were close together. People around Hana shouted names she did not know. She stopped walking. She wanted to see how the race ended. Her father touched her arm.
"If we stay for the end, we will miss the flame," he said.
