A School for Five Islands
Five Islands Academy is in the Isles of Scilly, in England. It teaches children from five islands. The main school is on St Mary's. There are also small primary schools on St Agnes, St Martin's and Tresco.
Some children travel to school by boat. Children from Bryher take a boat to Tresco each school day. Older students from the smaller islands study on St Mary's. They stay there during the school week and go home for the weekend.
The school day still has familiar things: teachers, classrooms, books, friends and homework. The journey is different because the sea is part of school life. How do you travel to school or work? Would you like to take a boat to class?
