This article introduces the Vizcaya Bridge, designed by Alberto de Palacio and inaugurated in 1893. Its gondola was designed to carry people and vehicles, and UNESCO added the bridge to the World Heritage List in 2006.
El arquitecto vasco Alberto de Palacio diseñó el puente y el puente se inauguró en 1893. Tiene cables de acero y una estructura alta, pero no bloquea el paso de los barcos.
El puente se diseñó con una barquilla. La barquilla fue diseñada para llevar personas y vehículos de una orilla a la otra, pero cuelga de la estructura alta.
El puente es alto porque fue construido para dejar espacio a los barcos. Pero la barquilla cuelga debajo de la parte alta.
La UNESCO incluyó el Puente de Vizcaya en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial en 2006. Es especial porque fue el primer puente del mundo que transportó personas y vehículos en una góndola suspendida.
