I came out of the station at the wrong door . My sister , Anna , was waiting at the other door , and I wanted to reach her before she started to worry . The street sign was in a language I could not read . Rain made my paper map soft , so I put it in my pocket and opened my phone . Before the trip I downloaded this part of the city in Google Maps . I wanted the map on my phone , because I did not want to depend on a strong signal . Now the signal was weak , but the map was still there . A blue dot showed the place where I was standing . A blue line showed the walk to Anna's door . I shared my location with her , so she could see the same dot . Then I started to walk . At the first corner the line turned left , so I turned left . I did not try to read the sign . A bus passed close to me , and for a moment I could not see the street . I stopped in a shop doorway and looked at the phone again . The dot moved with me . It was not at the station door anymore . That small change made me calm . I wrote to Anna , " I am walking . Follow the dot . " She answered , " I see you . You are slow , but you are coming . " Halfway along the line , I wanted a street name . I could see it on a wall , but I could not say it , and I did not want to send her a photo of letters she also could not read . I opened Google Translate and pointed the camera at the sign . English words came up on the screen . I checked them once , then I sent the name . Anna wrote , " Yes . That street meets mine . Stay on the blue line . " Near the station the two doors looked almost the same . One was on the left , beside a row of taxis . One was on the right , under a small roof . The blue line ended at the door on the right . I went there . Anna was under the roof , phone in her hand , and she was smiling . " I watched the dot , " she said . " It stopped , then it moved , then it was here . " I put the phone in my pocket . The paper map was still wet . I did not need it . Anna took my arm , and we left the station by the door I missed at the start .
