Максим дуже хотів мати собаку. Він часто казав мамі і татові: «Хочу собаку! Будь ласка!» Але мама казала: «Собака — це велика відповідальність». А тато казав: «Ти ще маленький».
Однажды, на день народження, Максим прокинувся рано. Він збіг вниз і побачив у кімнаті маленьку коробку. Коробка рухалася.
Максим відкрив коробку і побачив маленького цуценя. Цуценя було рудувате і м'яке. Воно мало великі карі очі. Максим дуже зрадів.
Він взяв цуценя на руки. Цуценя лизнуло його по носі. Максим засміявся. Він вирішив назвати собаку Дружок.
Дружок ріс швидко. Кожного дня Максим годував його вранці. Він давав Дружку воду і їжу. Він також ходив з ним гуляти у парк.
Дружок дуже любив парк. Він бігав по траві і нюхав квіти. Він грався з іншими собаками. Максим кидав м'яч, і Дружок приносив його назад.
Однажды Дружок загубився у парку. Максим шукав його скрізь. Він кричав: «Дружок! Де ти?» Але Дружок не прийшов.
Максим заплакав. Він сказав мамі, що Дружок загубився. Мама обійняла його і сказала: «Не плач. Ми знайдемо його».
Вони пішли разом шукати Дружка. Раптом вони почули гавкання. Дружок сидів під великим деревом. Поруч з ним сиділа маленька кішка.
Дружок не загубився. Він знайшов кошеня, яке плакало. І сидів поруч, щоб кошеня не боялося. Максим підійшов і взяв кошеня.
Максим сказав: «Дружок, ти хороший пес. Ти добрий». Дружок завиляв хвостом. З того дня Максим завжди дивився за Дружком у парку.
