Надворі холодно, а вітер сильний. Стара шапка Марійки не закриває вуха. Перед поїздкою тато каже: «Нам потрібна тепла шапка».
У магазині Марійка бачить синю, білу й червону шапки. Біла дуже гарна, але завелика. Синя мала. Червона шапка якраз. Вона м'яка і добре закриває вуха.
Марійка дивиться в дзеркало. Тато каже: «Ця шапка тобі пасує». Дівчинка усміхається. Вони купують шапку і теплий шарф.
У Пирогові на землі лежить сніг. Марійка й тато йдуть між старими хатами. Потім вони бачать високі вітряки. Марійка зупиняється і малює один вітряк у маленькому блокноті.
Біля однієї хати стоїть дерев'яний паркан. На паркані сидить маленька пташка. Марійка показує їй малюнок, але пташка швидко летить до дерева. Тато сміється. Потім вони п'ють теплий чай із термоса й діляться яблуком.
Вітер дме, але нова шапка закриває вуха. Марійці тепло. Вона може довго гуляти й дивитися на старі будівлі.
Увечері Марійка кладе малюнок біля шапки. Тепер червона шапка нагадує їй про першу зимову прогулянку в Пирогові.
