Минулого літа Олена, її брат Андрій і батьки жили кілька днів у невеликому селі в Карпатах. Одного ранку вони вирішили пройти короткою позначеною стежкою до водоспаду. Пані Марія, господиня садиби, порадила їм взяти воду, теплий светр і карту. Олена поклала все у рюкзак, а Андрій взяв яблука.
Дорога була мокрою після дощу, тому родина йшла повільно. Біля лісу вони побачили знак і не зійшли зі стежки. Андрій хотів іти швидше, але батько сказав: «У горах краще бути уважним». За годину вони почули шум води. Перед ними був невеликий водоспад. Олена зробила кілька фото, а Андрій сів на камінь і випив воду з пляшки.
Потім небо стало сірим, і родина повернулася до садиби. Дорогою вони зібрали своє сміття в пакет. Увечері Олена записала в щоденник: «Найкраща частина дня: ми дійшли разом і берегли стежку». Це вигадана історія, але правило просте: на прогулянці добре мати план і поважати природу.
