У суботу Юрко й Софія допомагали дідусеві Павлу прибирати горище. На високій полиці стояла стара коробка. Софія хотіла її відкрити, але спершу попросила в дідуся дозволу подивитися. Дідусь кивнув і дав дітям маленький ключ.
У коробці лежав конверт із синьою поштовою маркою та фото старого мосту. На конверті було написано ім'я Павла. Дідусь сказав, що цей лист надіслав його друг багато років тому. Він не знав, що лист зберігся.
Дідусь пояснив: поштову марку наклеюють на конверт, коли за пересилання листа вже заплатили. Юрко прочитав дату на конверті, а Софія обережно поклала лист назад у коробку. Потім вони записали в альбом: «Лист знайшли на горищі, а не викинули».
Після прибирання діти віднесли коробку до дідуся. Вони запитали, де стояло фото, і дідусь показав їм міст на старій карті.
