Увечері Юрко і Марійка почули шурхіт біля куща. Вони побачили їжака поруч із пластиковим кільцем. Їжак майже не рухався, тому діти не підійшли близько і не торкалися його.

Марійка покликала тата. Тато подивився на їжака з відстані та зателефонував до місцевого центру допомоги диким тваринам. Він пояснив, де вони побачили тварину і що лежало поруч. Працівниця центру сказала чекати на фахівця.

Поки вони чекали, діти не шуміли й тримали кота в будинку. За деякий час приїхала фахівчиня. Вона обережно оглянула їжака і забрала його до центру. Юрко й Марійка не знали, чи тварина повернеться до саду, але раділи, що дорослі звернулися по професійну допомогу.
