В одному маленькому місті була дуже стара бібліотека. Вона знаходилася у великому будинку з високими вікнами та дерев'яними дверима. Більшість дітей любили грати на вулиці, але Максим дуже любив читати. Щосуботи він приходив до бібліотеки, щоб знайти нову цікаву книгу.

Одного разу Максим зайшов занадто далеко між полицями. Він побачив маленькі двері, які раніше не помічав. Максим обережно відчинив їх і побачив дуже маленьку кімнату. Там було багато пилу, але на столі лежала одна велика книга у синій обкладинці. На ній було написано золотими літерами: "Книга Мрій".

Коли Максим відкрив першу сторінку, він відчув дивне тепло. Раптом стіни кімнати зникли, і він опинився у справжньому лісі! Навколо співали птахи, а дерева були вищі за будинки. Максим злякався, але потім побачив маленького ельфа.

— Привіт, Максиме! — сказав ельф. — Я чекав на тебе. Ця книга показує тобі світ, про який ти читаєш.

Максим зрозумів, що це магічна книга. Він гуляв лісом, розмовляв з тваринами та бачив дивовижні квіти. Потім він перегорнув сторінку і опинився на березі океану. Вода була дуже синя, а на піску лежали великі мушлі. Максим збирав їх і слухав шум моря.

Але скоро настав вечір. Максим згадав про маму і тата. Він закрив книгу і в ту ж мить знову опинився у маленькій кімнаті бібліотеки. Все було як раніше: пил, старий стіл і тиша.

Максим вийшов з бібліотеки з усмішкою. Тепер він знав, що кожна книга — це справжня подорож. Він пообіцяв собі прочитати всі книги в цій бібліотеці, бо кожна з них могла бути магічною.
