Сьогодні в школі вчителька сказала нам: «Книги — це двері в інші світи». Тому після уроків я попросила маму відвести мене до бібліотеки. Я ще ніколи там не була.\n\nКоли ми відчинили великі двері, я побачила тисячі книг. Вони стояли на високих полицях до самої стелі. У бібліотеці було дуже тихо. Люди читали або тихо гортали сторінки.\n\nДо нас підійшла жінка в окулярах. Це була бібліотекарка, пані Олена. \n— Вітаю! Ти хочеш вибрати книгу? — прошепотіла вона.\n— Так, я люблю історії про тварин і подорожі, — відповіла я теж пошепки.\n\nПані Олена показала мені відділ для дітей. Там було дуже затишно. Стояли маленькі столики та м'які крісла.\n— Ось тут книги про космос, а там — казки народів світу, — розповідала вона.\n\nЯ вибрала велику книгу про пригоди кота-мандрівника. Потім пані Олена зробила мені мій перший читацький квиток. Це була маленька картка з моїм іменем. \n— Тепер ти справжній читач, — сказала мама.\n\nПані Олена пояснила правила:\n1. Книги треба берегти.\n2. Не можна загинати сторінки.\n3. Треба повертати книги вчасно.\n\nЯ пообіцяла бути відповідальною. Тепер я буду приходити сюди щотижня. Адже в бібліотеці стільки цікавих історій, які я ще не прочитала!
