El cactus está en una maceta de barro. La maceta es de color marrón claro. Tiene un diseño bonito con líneas alrededor. El cactus se ve feliz en su casa de barro.

El cactus es de color verde oscuro. Tiene pequeñas protuberancias en su piel. Estas protuberancias se llaman areolas. De las areolas salen espinas pequeñas.

Las espinas son suaves, no punzantes. Mi mamá dice que este cactus es seguro para niños. Pero yo tengo cuidado de todos modos. No toco las espinas con las manos.

Mi cactus no necesita mucha agua. Lo riego solo una vez por semana. Uso una pequeña regadera azul. El agua debe mojar la tierra, no las espinas.

El cactus necesita mucha luz. Lo pongo cerca de la ventana. Allí el sol entra por la mañana. El sol ayuda al cactus a crecer fuerte.

Mi hermano tiene un cactus más grande. Su cactus tiene flores rosadas. Las flores son pequeñas y bonitas. Espero que mi cactus también florezca algún día.

Observo mi cactus cada semana. Noto si ha crecido un poco. A veces parece más gordito. Otras veces sale una nueva protuberancia.

Mi abuela tiene muchos cactus en su jardín. Ella me enseñó sobre plantas del desierto. Los cactus guardan agua en su interior. Por eso sobreviven con poca agua.

En verano, muevo mi cactus lejos del sol directo. El sol muy fuerte puede quemarlo. Lo pongo donde la luz es suave. Así se mantiene saludable.

Mi mamá me ayuda a limpiar las hojas caídas. A veces hay polvo en el cactus. Lo limpiamos con un pincel suave. El cactus se ve brillante después.

Tener una planta me enseña responsabilidad. Debo recordar regarla cada semana. Debo observar si está saludable. Mis padres me felicitan por mi cuidado.

Mi cactus es mi amigo verde. No habla, pero me hace sonreír. Verlo crecer me da felicidad. Es mi primera planta y la amo mucho.
