En el patio de mi escuela hay un dibujo en el suelo. Es un juego muy antiguo que se llama rayuela. Consiste en nueve cuadrados numerados del uno al nueve.
Para jugar necesito una piedra pequeña y plana. La lanzo al primer cuadrado. Si la piedra cae dentro, salto con un pie hasta el final y vuelvo. Debo evitar el cuadrado donde cayó la piedra.
El juego tiene reglas simples. No puedo pisar las líneas. No puedo tocar la piedra con el pie. Si lo hago, pierdo mi turno y juega el siguiente niño.
Mis amigos y yo jugamos cada recreo. Formamos una fila para lanzar la piedra. María es muy buena porque practica mucho. Pedro aún no puede llegar al nueve porque salta muy corto.
Cuando llego al final de los cuadrados, doy la vuelta y recojo la piedra. Debo volver al principio sin caerme. Si llego bien, puedo lanzar al siguiente número en mi siguiente turno.
El número nueve está en la parte de arriba. Se llama cielo o paraíso. Es el cuadrado más difícil porque está lejos. Cuando alguien llega al nueve, todos aplaudimos.
A veces dibujamos la rayuela con tiza en el suelo. Hacemos los cuadrados grandes para que sea más fácil. Usamos una tapa de botella en lugar de piedra cuando no encontramos una buena.
Mi abuela me dice que ella también jugaba a la rayuela. Dice que es un juego muy antiguo que conocen los niños de todo el mundo. En otros países tiene nombres diferentes.
Jugar a la rayuela me ayuda a contar los números. También practico el equilibrio cuando salto en un pie. Es buen ejercicio para las piernas y para la coordinación.
Cuando llueve, no podemos jugar afuera. Entonces dibujamos la rayuela en un papel grande. Usamos una moneda pequeña en lugar de piedra. No es igual, pero es divertido también.
Los sábados voy al parque con mi familia. A veces llevo tiza de colores. Dibujo una rayuela grande y otros niños se unen a jugar. Hacemos un torneo pequeño.
Mi hermana pequeña aún no sabe saltar bien en un pie. Ella juega conmigo saltando con dos pies. Yo la ayudo a contar los números en voz alta. Así aprende jugando.
La rayuela es mi juego favorito del patio. No necesito juguetes caros, solo una piedra y el suelo. Es un juego que une a los niños de diferentes edades.
