La Corrida de Toros

La corrida de toros es una tradición española antigua. Se llama también fiesta brava. Tiene siglos de historia. Es muy popular en algunas regiones de España.

La Plaza de Toros

Las corridas son en plazas especiales. Son edificios circulares grandes. Tienen gradas para el público. El ruedo es el espacio central de arena.

Los Toreros

Los toreros son los protagonistas. Visten trajes brillantes llamados de luces. El matador es el principal. Lleva una espada y un capote rojo.

El Desarrollo de la Corrida

La corrida tiene tres partes. Primero entran los banderilleros. Después pican el toro. Finalmente el matador lucha con el toro.

El Toro

El toro es el animal central. Debe pesar más de cuatrocientos kilos. Tiene cuernos grandes y fuertes. Viene de ganaderías especiales.

Las Tradiciones

Hay reglas muy estrictas. El público juzga con aplausos o abucheos. Si la corrida es buena, el matador recibe orejas. A veces recibe incluso el rabo del toro.

Las Festividades

Las corridas son en ferias importantes. San Fermín en Pamplona es famosa. Las Fallas en Valencia también tienen toros. Las corridas empiezan por la tarde.

Controversia Moderna

Hoy hay debate sobre las corridas. Algunos piensan que es arte tradicional. Otros dicen que es cruel con los animales. En algunos lugares de España están prohibidas.
