Los personajes del Belén
En el centro del Belén están tres personajes principales. María es la madre de Jesús. José es el padre. El niño Jesús está en un pesebre de madera. Ellos están en un establo porque no había lugar en la posada.
Otros personajes importantes
Hay más figuras en un Belén completo. Los pastores vienen a ver al niño. Tres Reyes Magos llegan con regalos. Hay ovejas, burros y vacas. También hay ángeles en el cielo.
Los materiales
Las figuras del Belén pueden ser de diferentes materiales. Algunas son de barro y están pintadas a mano. Otras son de madera o de plástico. Las figuras más bonitas son muy antiguas y pasan de padres a hijos.
El montaje
Montar el Belén es una actividad familiar. Primero se pone el paisaje con montañas y un río. Después se colocan las casas y los árboles. Finalmente se ponen las figuras. El niño Jesús se pone el veinticinco de diciembre.
Competencias de Belenes
En algunas ciudades de España hay concursos de Belenes. La gente hace Belenes muy grandes y elaborados. Usan luces, agua de verdad y hasta nieve artificial. Los visitantes pagan para ver estos Belenes especiales.
Un símbolo de paz
El Belén representa la paz y el amor. Durante las fiestas, las familias se reúnen alrededor del Belén. Cuentan historias y cantan villancicos. Es una tradición que une a las generaciones.
