Головні символи Великодня — це паска і писанка. Паска — це спеціальний солодкий хліб. Його печуть тільки один раз на рік, навесні. У кожній родині є свій рецепт паски. Її прикрашають білою глазур'ю і кольоровим цукром.
Писанка — це красиво розмальоване яйце. Робити писанки — це давня українська традиція. Для цього потрібні яйця, віск і фарби. Малювати писанку не дуже легко. Потрібно мати терпіння і фантазію. Кожен колір і малюнок мають своє значення.
Наприклад, червоний колір означає радість і життя. Жовтий колір — це сонце і тепло. Зелений колір символізує весну і природу. Малювати писанки люблять і дорослі, і діти. Це дуже цікаве заняття для всієї родини.
У неділю вранці українці йдуть до церкви. Вони несуть спеціальні кошики. У кошик кладуть паску, писанки, м'ясо і сир. У церкві священник святить ці продукти водою. Після церкви люди йдуть додому.
Вдома вся родина сідає за великий стіл. Спочатку треба з'їсти шматочок паски і яйце. У цей день люди вітаються по-особливому. Вони кажуть: «Христос воскрес!». А відповідати треба: «Воістину воскрес!».
Діти дуже люблять Великдень, бо вони грають у гру з яйцями. Вони стукають своїми писанками одна об одну. Чиє яйце не розбилося, той виграв. Це дуже весело.
Великдень в Україні — це свято родини, весни і надії. Це час, коли люди радіють, пробачають один одного і роблять добрі справи. Традиції Великодня живуть в Україні вже багато століть.
